EXPERTISE
Jono commenced work as a barrister sole in June 2017 following eight years in practice developing a passion for, and speciality in, criminal defence advocacy. He regularly appears in the Invercargill, Gore, and Queenstown District Courts representing defendants on a wide variety of criminal charges. Jono has assisted appellants in both the High Court and Court of Appeal. Jono also has experience appearing before the New Zealand Parole Board.
Jono is a member of the New Zealand Bar Association and the Criminal Bar Association. He is a Council Member of the NZBA, representing the Otago/Southland region.

I take on myriad criminal and quasi-criminal matters including serious violence, drug offending, dishonesty, traffic, and limited licences.
I represent parties facing Resource Management prosecutions and Ministry for Primary Industry proceedings.
I also have experience defending Proceeds of Crime proceedings.
