EXPERTISE
Jono commenced work as a barrister sole in June 2017 following eight years in practice developing a passion for, and speciality in, criminal defence advocacy. He regularly appears in the Invercargill, Gore, and Queenstown District Courts representing defendants on a wide variety of criminal charges. Jono has assisted appellants in both the High Court and Court of Appeal. Jono regularly appears before the New Zealand Parole Board.
Jono is a member of the Criminal Bar Association.

I take on myriad criminal and quasi-criminal matters including serious violence, drug offending, dishonesty, firearms, traffic, and limited licences.
I represent parties facing Resource Management prosecutions and Ministry for Primary Industry proceedings.
I also have experience defending Proceeds of Crime proceedings.
